about

“Ballad for Ding Bang”: When my wife and I found out we were going to have a boy, we had a hard time coming up with a name. One day while the band was over at my house getting ready for a tour, they were looking through a baby naming book and found the name “Ding Bang," which in Chinese means “defender of cities.” They got a good laugh out of this name. My son’s name is actually Max, I wrote this song for him and used the nickname my band gave him before he was born.
